About the Project

The basement bar in the Swedish American Music Hall. Instead of renovating it to the original turn of the century look, we chose the early 1940s and tried to imagine what it could have felt like then: fixtures and finishes were chosen from the first four decades of the century, as if it had been consistently updated between 1908 and 1942. All on a razor thin budget. The menu design sought to create a cohesive feeling for three distinct spaces and service styles.
